Some dreams are so powerful that they transcend generations. For me, that dream began long before I was born, with my nonno, Mimmo Longo.

 

Over 40 years ago, when Nonno arrived in Canada, he carried more than just a suitcase—he brought with him a love for crafting authentic gelato. In his new home of Edmonton, he shared this passion with friends, family, and anyone who craved a taste of something special. Gelato wasn’t just a dessert to him; it was a way to connect, to create memories, and to bring a little piece of Italy to the people around him.

 

Some of the fondest memories that people have of my nonno are of him behind the counter, serving up rich, handcrafted gelato with a warm smile, an espresso in hand, and a game of Scopa ready to go. It was more than a business; it was a way of life—a tradition built on joy, flavor, and community.

 

I am honored to reignite that dream. My goal is simple: to continue what Nonno started—to bring people together over authentic gelato, to create lasting moments, and to share the flavors that have been part of my family’s story for decades.
